Bhutto gave sacrifices, says PPP leader

By Our Correspondent

MANSEHRA, Aug 7: Provincial PPP (women wing) president Mehrun Nisa Afridi said on Saturday that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had rendered great sacrifices for uniting the Ummah and for making Pakistan a strong , progressive and enlightened Muslim state of the world.

She was speaking at a women wing's convention of the Mansehra press club here on Saturday.

Ms Mehrun Nissa said Bhutto had given the country a unanimous constitution in 1973, brought leaders of the Muslim world under one flag by holding the first Islamic Summit in Lahore and initiated the nuclear programme of the country.

But Americans and Jews, according to her, were afraid of that unity, therefore they brought forward Ziaul Haq to eliminate Bhutto from the scene.
