KARACHI, Aug 4: As many as 206 computer labs would be set up in various districts of the province during the current fiscal year. The project has been taken up jointly by the Ministry of Information Technology , in collaboration with the Government of Sindh for the promotion of quality education at the school level.

Progress of the project was reviewed at a meeting chaired by the Sindh Chief Secretary Mohammad Aslam Sanjrani in his office here on Wednesday. At the meeting, it was decided that the best academic atmosphere would be provided to students and teachers would be posted at the labs from the same district.

The computer labs would be provided with modern equipment and trained teachers. For the project, the department of education would be provided assistance and facilities from the Pakistan Computer Bureau.

The chief secretary also chaired a meeting which reviewed the Asian Development Bank's projects pertaining to the Sindh education department. A statement said that he was also apprised of certain difficulties during a briefing.

The CS said that problems and difficulties were part of the process and be overcome by working with commitment and dedication to achieve the targets. It was decided that in order to overcome the difficulties, the planning and development department should devise a strategy in collaboration with the other concerned departments. - APP
