PESHAWAR, Aug 2: The chief of the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba, Zubair Ahmad Gondal, has urged the government to restore the students' unions and said those were indispensable for the welfare of students.
Speaking at a function held to give prizes to students who has shown outstanding performance in matriculation examinations in Charsadda, he said education was the top priority of his organization.
He said: "We cannot ignore the hostilities of the western countries towards the Muslims of Kashmir, Palestine, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Chechnya." He said that after the 9/11 attacks on the US Muslims throughout the world had faced the revenge of the western countries.
Mr Gondal said the government was subdued by American pressure. He said curricula had been changed at the behest of the United States to undermine the cause of Jihad. "The United States has declared that it wants a changed education system in Pakistan." he said. -PPI
