LAHORE: Light rain forecast

LAHORE, July 28: Scattered rainfall of light to moderate intensity has been forecast over the upper catchment areas of Ravi, Sutlej, Chenab and Jhelum along with northern and north-eastern Punjab on Thursday (today).

Similarly, isolated light to moderate intensity rain has also been forecast over the upper catchments of Indus, central Punjab, central NWFP and north-eastern Balochistan.

Meteorological radar network reported scattered rain of light to moderate intensity from the upper catchments of Indus and Jhelum and isolated rain of light to moderate intensity in the upper catchments of Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej along with Gujranwala division on Wednesday.

It also reported a well-marked seasonal low lying over western Balochistan and adjoining southern Afghanistan. A weak south-westerly monsoon current from the Arabian Sea is reaching Punjab up to 5,000 feet above mean sea level.
