SAHIWAL, July 21: On the orders of the district and sessions judge, Chichawatni Saddar police on Wednesday registered a case against Kunjah (Gujrat) police ASI and three constables, who allegedly had kidnapped three labourers and tortured them in custody last year.

Later, Razzaq filed a writ petition with the district courts on the orders of which the Chichawatni Saddar police registered a case against the suspects under sections 365, 342, 354, 148 and 149 PPC.

PROTEST: Activists of a religious organization demonstrated on Wednesday to register their protest against the plan to organize a musical show at the press club. The show was cancelled to prevent any untoward incident.

Activists of the Shabab-i-Milli gathered on the College Road and proceeded on motorcycles, chanting slogans against the district administration. Pledging to continue protest, they demanded that the government should check obscenity. The activists also surrounded the venue for the show and hoisted black flags.
