ABBOTTABAD, July 21: Abbottabad Town Council Nazim Jawed Tanoli presented Rs76.479 million budget for the fiscal 2004-05 with no additional tax.

The budget session, held here at the town hall on Wednesday, was presided over by Haji Nazeer Ahmed, naib nazim of the council.

Total income from different sources was estimated at Rs79.120 million against the proposed total expenditure of Rs76.479 million. Giving the details, Mr Tanoli said a major chunk of the budget will be spent on salaries of the staff and special allocation of funds with 2 per cent for the welfare of women had been set aside, which was Rs1.2 million.

For the ongoing developmental schemes, Rs12.556 million is allocated and for the fresh schemes an amount of Rs7 million is proposed. Rs7.729 million is spared for the developmental schemes under the CCB scheme for which the community will generate at least 20 per cent funds.
