KARACHI: City govt's tender policy reviewed

KARACHI, July 6: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has directed the officials concerned to make the process of calling tenders and issuing contracts of development works in the city government departments transparent.

While presiding over a meeting held to review the tender policy of the city government at the Civic Centre, he said that details regarding rejection of tenders and other particulars be displayed on the CDGK website.

He directed the officials to formulate a strategy guided by the Pakistan Engineering Council and other federal and provincial regulations, particularly regarding Works and Services Department, to make the process of calling tenders and granting contracts transparent.

He said that the city government was struggling to eliminate corruption from the CDGK departments, so that the people could be served honestly. Various recommendations and conditions for the Procurement Manual were also reviewed at the meeting to make the tender process transparent.

A workshop on the Procurement Manual Services was decided to be held next week, where EDOs would present their recommendations and suggestions. - PPI
