ISLAMABAD, July 4: Four persons died in separate incidents in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, police and hospital authorities said on Sunday.

In the first incident, Mohammad Sohaib, aged 29, a resident of Sialkot, was injured after falling from a crane while repairing a machine in a factory at Sector I-9/3.

The injured, an electrician by profession, died while he was being shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims), the police said. In another incident, an unidentified man suffered multiple injuries after being hit by a speeding passenger bus (VR-4786) at Rawat T-Chowk.

He died while being shifted to hospital. Later, the body was sent to Pims for autopsy. Meanwhile, Mohammad Mukthar, stated to be in his 50s, tried to commit suicide after taking a heavy dose of medicine in his house at Rawalpindi, hospital sources said.

The sources quoted the victim's family as saying that Mr Mukthar quarrelled with his family over some domestic issue before consuming the medicine. He was shifted to Pims, where, according to the doctors, his condition was critical.

Our Staff Reporter From Pindi Adds: Two persons, including a Special Branch official, were killed in separate incidents, police said. Shaukat Khan, a Special Branch official, was passing through Rawal Road on his motorbike when his two-wheeler veered off the road and crashed into a footpath.

As a result, he sustained critical head injuries, which resulted in his death. In the second incident, Mohammad Sarwar, 55, drowned in a mini dam while trying to get his buffalo out of water at Tarnol. The divers fished out his body and handed it over to his family.
