118 killed in Yemen fighting


SANAA, July 3: More than two weeks of heavy clashes between supporters of an extremist preacher and the Yemeni army in the country's north have killed 118 people on both sides, the interior minister said on Saturday.

Rashad al-Alimi told parliament that 86 supporters of Hussein Badr Eddin al-Huthi had been killed, as well as 32 soldiers and policemen, since the fighting erupted on June 18 in Saada province.-AFP
