LAHORE: Man kills sister on suspicion

LAHORE, July 1: A man allegedly shot dead his married sister while another man was murdered in separate incidents here on Thursday. Police said Anwar Ali of Raiwind allegedly shot dead his sister , Rubina Shahid (32). Married to Shahid, the woman had four children.

Quoting family, the police said the accused had been suspicious about the character of his sister for several months, and had warned her repeatedly. The body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy. A case has been registered with no arrest.

Customers Kashif and Shafiq tortured to death Khadim Husain (45), waiter of a hotel in Mozang. They had exchanged harsh words with the waiter over a trivial issue, the police said. They said the two men gave a sound thrashing to the waiter. He was shifted to hospital where he died. His body was sent to the city mortuary for post-mortem.

DIES: A cable operator died at the Mayo Hospital from bullet wounds he had sustained one month ago. Ishaq of Shafiqabad told police that his brother, Ishtiaq (30), had been doing a cable business in the locality for well over two years.

He said Sohail Butt also wanted to set up the same business there. Ishaq said Butt would often create problems for his brother one way or the other. His brother in a bid to resolve the issue visited Butt.

He alleged that Butt and four other unidentified men opened fire on him after exchanging hot words. An attempted murder case already registered was converted into a murder case with no arrest, and the body was removed to the city mortuary for autopsy.

ACCIDENT: Two people were killed in accidents in the city on Thursday. Shamsuddin (40), a railway employee, suffered injuries when a motorcycle rickshaw he had boarded in Raiwind overturned. He died on the way to a nearby hospital.

Saeed Ahmad (25) was killed when a truck hit his motorcycle in Tibbi City. Cases were registered in both the incidents while bodies were returned to respective families without autopsy.

STOLEN CAR: Police have failed to recover a car stolen from Allama Iqbal Town three days ago. Complainant Muhammad Amin had parked his car (IDN-9587) in Moon Market from where it was lifted.
