HYDERABAD, June 27: District Nazim Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman has said that the district government is planning to bring all its administrative departments under one roof not only to facilitate the people but also ensure proper coordination among them.

This he said while holding meeting with representative of NGOs and social welfare organizations at the pilot social welfare complex Qasimabad on Friday.

He said that it was the district government which shifted the rehabilitation centre for physically handicapped from a rented and unsuitable building in Latifabad-4 where orphans and disabled children were living in a miserable condition.

He said that the district government was planning to bring all social welfare institutions such as the RCPH, Darul Aman, Darul Atfal and socio-economic centre under one roof at the pilot social welfare complex Qasimabad and its adjacent land owned by the social welfare department.

He said that it was also for the first time that the district government approved annual budget for all social welfare centres with a view to making them capable of catering to the needs of the deprived people.

Expressing his concern over the opposition to office of EDO CDD at the pilot social welfare complex on the pretext of disturbance to the RCPH, the district nazim said that the complex was not meant for the RCPH but we shifted it due to miserable condition of orphans and people with disabilities in a rented building.

He said that being departmental head the EDO's presence was essential for check and balance of components of the department. He said that his presence would be helpful for disabled persons but it could create problems for ghost employees of RCPH who might be behind the movement against EDO CDD office, he added.

He made it clear that neither the office of the EDO CDD nor Darul Atfal and RCPH would be shifted from the pilot social welfare complex.

Responding to a question by Najma Panhwar, the nazim said that all disabled and orphan children would be provided better lodging and boarding facilities as compared to previous one.

He said that office of the EDO CDD would be totally separated from the RCPH and Darul Atfal to ensure the privacy of both institutions.

The nazim warned that the district government would maintain discipline in its departments at all cost.

He said that the work was in progress to create more capacity at the Shahbaz building where the district government intends to bring all the revenue offices of the district under one roof to ensure one window service to the people specially coming from rural areas.
