One killed in bomb blast

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, June 12: One person was killed and three others were seriously injured when a time-bomb exploded in front of the residence of Frontier Constabulary deputy commandant here on Saturday.

The time device went off as the car of deputy commandant Ghaniur Rehman came out of the house. The official who was scheduled to go to Peshawar, where he is posted as principal staff officer at the FC headquarters, escaped unhurt as he was not present in the vehicle. The bomb was planted near the main gate of the house.

A passerby, Khizar Hayat, an official of the education department, was killed on the spot, and two gunners of the deputy commandant, namely Ihsanullah and Habibullah, and a polytechnic institute teacher, Prof Sheraz, sustained injuries.
