Majid improves ranking


KARACHI, June 3: Pakistan's Majid Khan leapfrogged to his career best No48 in men's world squash ranking from No66 due to his impressive performance in recently concluded German Open , according to the latest PSA rankings announced on Thursday.

Majid shocked seeded players to reach the semifinals in German Open which enabled him to improve his ranking. Pakistan's top player Mansoor Zaman retained his No19 position while Pakistan No2 Shahid Zaman remained stuck at No36. Farrukh Zaman slipped from No40 to 41.

All the top four Pakistan players will be competing in Asian squash championship to be held at Kuala Lumpur from June 18. England's Peter Nicol retained his No1 position while his compatriot Lee Beachill leapt two places to a career-high second place to give England top two players in the world for the first time. -PPI
