Security in Islamabad tightened

ISLAMABAD, June 3: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has beefed up security in the vicinity of mosques, Imambargahs and churches to avoid any untoward situation.
The security measures and law and order situation were reviewed in a meeting held here on Thursday. The meeting was presided over by the chief commissioner, Junaid Iqbal. The meeting discussed the preventive measures to control the car-lifting incidents and traffic accidents.
The deputy commissioner informed the meeting that security in the capital especially around mosques, Imambargahs and churches had been beefed up and the ICT administration and police were monitoring the security arrangements round-the-clock.
He said the district administration had also involved mosque committees in beefing up the security system of worship places and has communicated them a 10-point guideline plan.
