PESHAWAR, May 28: Intelligence agency personnel on Friday released provincial chief of Al Badr organization and seven other activists of the banned Kashmiri outfit after interrogating them for 36 hours, sources told Dawn here on Friday.

Intelligence personnel with the help of Crime Investigation Department had picked up eight people belonging to a Kashmiri outfit including the provincial ameer Hafiz Gohar Rehman from his office in Sardar Ghari area in Chamkani on Thursday. They remained under custody and interrogated by the intelligence personnel for 36 hours and on Friday afternoon all were released, the sources maintained.

HASHISH SEIZED: The Customs authorities in Kohat on Friday seized 1150kg of hashish from a fake army vehicle and arrested two alleged smugglers, said a press release faxed to Dawn.

The seizure was made at Rahim Khan checkpoint. Two alleged smugglers Mohammad Sher son of Noor Mohammad, a resident of Bara, Khyber Agency and Jan Wali son of Said Wali, a resident of Jamrud, Khyber Agency were arrested.

CELL FORMED: The NWFP police have formed a cell at the central police office to implement the rules under the Police Ordinance, sources told Dawn here on Friday.

The provincial Inspector General Riffat Pasha on Friday formed the Police Order Implementation Cell under the supervision of DIG Investigation Tanvir-ul-Haq Sipra. Other members of the cell includes SP investigation CPO Hafiz Gulzar, DSP Mushtaq and DSP research CPO Naushad Ali.
