KARACHI: No clue yet to bombers

KARACHI, May 27: Police on Thursday failed to find a clue to the perpetrators of the Wednesday car bomb explosions near PACC. A police guard was killed and at least 33 people, including police personnel and media men , were injured in two blasts in front of the PACC which is located near the residence of the US Consul General on the Fatima Jinnah Road.

The two car bombs went off with an interval of almost 30 minutes. A senior police officer said that the incident was similar to that which occurred outside the Bible Society on Jan 15.

"The same modus operandi was adopted in the Wednesday incident which suggests that same group was involved in both the incident," he argued. It has been established now that a time device was used in the two blasts on Wednesday, he said.
