PESHAWAR, May 13: Federal Minister for Water and Power Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has assured that all efforts would be made to get the share from hydel net profit and its due share from NFC Award.

He stated this at a meeting with NWFP senior minister Sirajul Haq who called on him at his office in Islamabad accompanied by MNA Sabir Hussain Awan and provincial finance secretary Ziaur Rehman, according to a handout issued here on Wednesday.

Mr Sherpao said he himself belonged to this backward province and deeply felt the ever-increasing level of poverty and unemployment there. He assured that proper steps would be taken by the federal government to resolve all genuine problems of the government and people of NWFP in the ambit of law and constitution.

He said effective measures would be adopted in forming the mediation committee for deciding hydel net profit share of the NWFP as well as empowering it for result-oriented and timely decision. He issued on the spot directives to the Wapda chairmen on this occasion.

Mr Sherpao assured the minister that sympathetic consideration would be given to the demand of the NWFP to make proper increase in the interim amount of hydel net profit share.
