ISLAMABAD, May 2: Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) will be celebrated with traditional zeal throughout the country on Monday.

Processions will be taken out and Naatia programmes and Quran Khwani will be organized across the country. Mosques and government and private buildings have been illuminated with colourful lights to celebrate the birthday of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

The main feature of the day will be a national Seerat-un-Nabi (pbuh) conference being organized by the ministry of religious affairs. The theme of the conference, to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali, will be 'Present trend of religious extremism and its elimination under the light of teachings of Holy Prophet (pbuh)'.

An exhibition of books on Seerat-un-Nabi (pbuh) and Mehfil-i-Naat will also be held on the occasion. Religious scholars representing various schools of thought and a large number of people will attend the conference.

Meanwhile, arrangements were completed to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi (pbuh) in a befitting manner in Islamabad. The deputy commissioner appealed to the ulema and Mashaikh to forge unity among their ranks and preach tolerance, peace and harmony.
