SAHIWAL, April 28: Eleven girl students and one of their teachers sustained injuries when some students of the adjoining Boys Community School threw stone on them in Chak 110/12-L on Wednesday.

The parents of Government Girls Middle School students had lodged a protest with the parents of boy students over the eve-teasing issue. At this, the students and some of their parents along with watchman Manzoor started throwing stones on girl students.

Consequently, 11 girl students suffered injuries while the nose of teacher Meesha Mirza got fractured. The seriously injured students - Chanda, Qudsia, Arbab, Asia and Qudsia Ashraf and the teacher were admitted to the hospital. The watchman of Boys Community School was suspended from the service. An inquiry into the incident has also been ordered.

OUT OF ORDER: Around 600 telephones of Yusafwala telephone exchange went out of order due to some technical fault here on Monday. As of now, no serious effort has been made by the authorities concerned to rectify the fault.

Subscribers have urged the PTCL chairman to take action against the officials for their lethargic attitude.

ARRESTED: Farid Town police on Wednesday arrested the second accused allegedly involved in a double murder case of Kot Khadim Ali Shah. The accused had shot dead Kakay Shah and his colleague Asghar over the parking issue on April 23. On Wednesday, the police arrested Aslam Bhatti while Hasan Zaheer had been held on the day of the incident.

A case had been registered against former PPP unit chief Aslam Baggoo, his accomplice Hasan Zaheer, Zaheer Shah, Aslam Bhatti and Abdul Ghani. The police are conducting raids for the arrest of the remaining accused.
