LAHORE, April 25: Except for paceman Umar Gul, no other player appeared before the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)'s medical commission on Sunday. The commission has been constituted to probe into the large number of injuries to the players during the home seriesagainst India, especially Shoaib Akhtar.

Besides Shoaib and Umar, Abdul Razzaq, Shabbir Ahmed and Moin Khan have been summoned. Shoaib is currently in India and likely to return home on Tuesday. Shabbir had left for London, while Moin and Razzaq are likely to appear in the next meeting also.

The commission headed by Dr Abdul Wajid, Orthopaedic Surgeon of Aga Khan University, advised Umar, the hero of the Lahore Test which was won by Pakistan, how he could remain fit for competitive cricket.

The commission also watched the video of the Rawalpindi Test. About Shoaib, the commission decided to have a bone-scan of his ribs. The next date of the meeting of the commission will be decided after a couple of days.
