KARACHI, April 24: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan on Saturday directed the health department to set up a "fully-equipped" maternity home in district Dadu. He also directed that provision of facilities be ensured at Civil Hospital, Dadu.

Mr Ibad expressed concern over non-existence of a maternity home in district Dadu despite the fact that the matter was taken up by the federal minister for industries and production, Liaquat Ali Jatoi.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting held as a follow-up of his district Dadu's visit. The meeting was attended by Mr Liaquat Jatoi, Sindh chief secretary Dr. Muttawakil Kazi, Brig. Akhtar Zamin, District Nazim Dadu Malik Asad Sikandar, MPAs Sadaqat Ali Jatoi, Ahsan Ali Jatoi and others.

DCO Dadu informed the meeting about the follow-up of the governor's visit to Dadu.

The governor took notice of the ratio of primary and middle schools in Dadu and directed the authorities to take steps in this regard. He also directed that steps be taken for ensuring presence of schoolteachers in schools and motivating the children towards education.-PPI
