FAISALABAD, April 24: The misunderstanding among some people about the mega water supply project involving a huge foreign aid of Rs4.5 billion has been removed and the formal work on it will start soon.

This was claimed by DCO Tahir Hussain while speaking at a 'Certificate Distribution Ceremony' among participants of a five-day training course on 'Galvanizing Coordination between Government Function-aries and Elected Representatives' here on Saturday.

He said the Japanese Agency 'Japan International Coordination Agency (JICA)' had agreed to provide Rs4.5 billion aid for the provision of drinking water facility to the people of Faisalabad.

He said that more mega projects involving billions of rupees would be completed in the district with the financial assistance of international minority organizations and NGOs.

The British Agency Department for International Development would spend Rs650 million in the education and sewerage sectors in the Faisalabad district, he said.

Under this plan, he said the training programmes for the capacity building of teachers would be arranged and the missing facilities in educational institutions would also be provided. Besides, he said, the sewerage facility would be provided to a number of areas.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Muhammad Anwar, Government Degree College principal, Satiana Road, thanked the course organizers. He assured that the training would go a long way in improving the efficiency of course participants and polishing their financial and administrative skills.

Later, DCO Tahir Hussain gave away certificates to the participants over the successful completion of their courses.
