MQM struggling against feudalism: minister

By Our Correspondent

THATTA, April 23: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement is working for the well being of some 98 per cent the poor and middle class population by striving to free the country from feudal domination.

This was stated by Sindh minister for information and technology Syed Mustafa Kamal while speaking at corner meetings in Chubandi, Haji Gherano, Udasi and Gharo towns on Thursday.

He said MQM ministers and advisers visited far-flung areas in the interior of Sindh under the instructions of party chief Altaf Hussain to help the people. He said we spread awareness among the people without any discrimination of caste, creed, language and colour.

The minister contended that country's political scenario, right from its independence, remained over clouded by feudal families. He said they went on encashing their power status in the name of poor and downtrodden by delivering them nothing but mere slogans. MQM's Zonal In-charge Farrukh Azam, Ibrahim Soho, Dr Dildar Khaskheli, Aziz Soomro and others also spoke on the occasion.

NAZIM: District Nazim Syed Shafqat Shah Shirazi has stressed for coordinated efforts of communities to streamline the education system. Speaking at an open kutchehry in Mirpur Sakro on Thursday, he regretted that teachers were not regular on their duties as a number of schools had been closed for months.

He praised the National Commission for Human Development for getting enrolled 17,000 children and said coordinated efforts of government and non-governmental functionaries could yield positive results.

Commenting on the activities of MQM in the district, Mr Shirazi said it had no roots in the district. "We inherit politics, command respect and popularity in view of our services and people will never bypass Shirazis.
