KARACHI, April 21: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, on Wednesday, warned that the government should refrain from sending Pakistani troops to Iraq under any condition and said instead of Iraq
, troops should be sent to Palestine and Kashmir to restore calm, peace and initiate rebuilding process.
In a joint statement, MMA MNAs and MPAs Muhammad Hussain Mehnti, Abdul Sattar Afghani, Nasarullah Shajee, Hameedullah Khan and Younus Barai said that Muslims were subjected to violence on daily basis and houses were being demolished, but no Muslim ruler was even ready to condemn these brutalities.
They stated that Muslims were being killed and subjected to humiliation around the globe while the rulers were planning to send troops to Iraq to strengthen the US-led occupation.
Meanwhile, Jamat-i-Islami announced that the party would hold protest demonstrations in various areas on Thursday against the martyrdom of Hammas leader Abdel Aziz and Pakistan's plan to send military contingents to Iraq.
According to a JI press release, the demonstrations would be held at Tower, Burnes Road, Schon Circle, Clifton roundabout, PECHS, Nazimabad, Qayyumabad, Nagin Chowrangi, Landhi, Korangi, Malir and others areas. -PPI
