HARIPUR, April 21: NWFP chief minister Akram Khan Duranni has said that the government has tried its best to protect the right of Frontier province and efforts are made to get certain share of net hydel profit from Tarbela Dam for Haripur district.

This he said while speaking to the participants of the concluding ceremony of Jashn-i-Hazara festival here on Wednesday. Mr Duranni while eulogising the sacrifices rendered by the people of Haripur for Tarbela Dam.

He said that his government will never lag behind the policies of the past rulers, rather he assured that Haripur would certainly get its due share from NHP of Tarbela Dam, once the matter is settled with federal government, he added.

He said that his government had successfully changed the policy of discrimination and equally funded all the 24 districts of the province. About repairing of Hattar-Texila Road, he made it clear that fund would be released to FWO when the road is constructed in accordance with the terms of contract.

He also announced an additional piece of 10 canal land for the Curtice Ground, Haripur and promised to release fund shortly.
