KARACHI, April 21: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, comprising Justice Wahid Bux Brohi and Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery, on Wednesday admitted an appeal for hearing filed by Zulfiqar Ali
against his conviction on charge of killing two police personnel at a police camp outside the US Consulate in February last year.
The court, issuing notice to the state, also called record of the case and fixed the matter for a date to be fixed by the office.
BAIL GRANTED: A division bench of the Sindh High Court on Wednesday granted bail before arrest to an employee of the Cantonment Board and directed him to furnish surety in a sum of Rs500,000. The bench comprised Justices Sabihuddin Ahmed and Muhammad Afzal Soomro.
The court has fixed April 29 as the next date of hearing and issued notice to the National Accountability Bureau. The accused, Adil Khan, was booked by FIA on the charge of embezzlement.
He, along with other co-accused, had allegedly used receipt books to collect revenue from taxpayers but did not deposit the money amounting to millions of rupees with the Board. -PPI
