HYDERABAD, April 18: An old woman has accused her eldest son of misusing the power of attorney given to him by family members to contest a property case.

Addressing in a news conference in the press club here on Sunday, Jeandi, widow of Aarib Panhwar, a resident of the Panhwar village, said that she with her other sons and daughters had given a general power of attorney to her eldest son Mohammad Peeral Panhwar on Feb 21, 1991 to contest a property case of 155.07 acres land in Deh Faujgah and 1.5 acres of village land.

She said that the said power of attorney was revoked on Dec 18, 2000 which was also published in the newspapers. She said thereafter his son started threatening her other children and his own children from the first wife with dire consequences.

Ms Jeandi said her son had also forcibly occupied the shops located in the village. She cautioned the people not to enter into any agreement with her son in respect of properties.

She appealed to the authorities to take notice of the highhandedness of her son and provide protection to her children and grand children. The written text of the press conference was read by the old woman's grandson.
