ISLAMABAD, April 18: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will inaugurate the international conference on the UN Convention Against Corruption being held here from April 20 to 22.

Dignitaries and experts from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Maldives, Europe, Far East, Asia and western countries will take part in the conference.

According to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), renowned lawyers, United Nations representatives and other civil and government officials will also attend the event. Delegations from abroad would hold meetings with their counterparts in Pakistan to devise strategies to combat corruption, especially in the third world countries.

The UN convention would help the signatories in adopting measures such as establishment of anti-corruption bodies to enhance transparency in both the public and private sectors. Prevention of corruption in the judiciary and in public procurement would also be the main concern of the UN convention.
