TOBA TEK SINGH, April 14: Telephone system remained suspended for more than two hours for the second time in a week on Tuesday night. The district remained cut off from the rest of the country due to suspension of service.

When contacted, a PTCL official said the service remained suspended due to defect in fibre optic at Faisalabad. The service remained suspended for more than an hour for the same reason a couple of days ago.

CASE AGAINST PTCL: Kamalia additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday summoned Pakistan Telecommunication Company (PTCL) divisional engineer and assistant engineer on April 21. A Sindhilianwali citizen Muhammad Javed had filed a suit against them for allegedly closing his phone without any reason.

GIRL KILLED: A girl was killed on Wednesday by her brother and cousin in Nawan Lahore area. Musarrat Perveen had allegedly eloped with a youth of the village and returned home through a panchayat. Her brother Ilyas and cousin shot her dead and fled from the scene.

MURDER MYSTERY SOLVED: The mystery of murder of a farmer of Chak 294 JB was solved on Wednesday. District police officer said postmortem on Siddiq revealed that he was shot dead. His family members had claimed that they did not know the killers. When police arrested Shafiq, the brother of Siddiq, on suspicion he admitted to killing his brother with the help of a friend Manzoor over a domestic dispute.
