ISLAMABAD, April 11: The Pakistan People's Party has always struggled for the legitimate economic, political and cultural rights of the working class.

This was stated by Mian Raza Rabbani, leader of the parliamentary party in the Senate and the PPP deputy secretary general, in a statement issued here on Sunday.

The PPP leader said during its tenure, his party lifted the ban imposed by dictators on trade union activities and reinstated the workers who were removed from service in a manner contrary to the law.

He claimed that at present the country was passing through the worst period in its history considering the rising deprivation of rights and retrenchment of the working class. "The PML-Q government is being dictated economic policies by the forces of international financial imperialism," he added.
