KARACHI, April 10: A man was killed and seven others were injured in an explosion near the DHA Golf Club late on Saturday. However, a private television network claimed that two people were killed.

Sources said that a concert was in progress in the club when the explosion occurred. Indian singer Sono Nigam was among the performers.

Initial reports suggested that the explosive device was planted in a maroon Suzuki Margalla and it went off around 10:45pm when the car was waiting in a queue to pass through a security barrier.

At least four other vehicles were damaged.

The dead and the injured were taken to the Jinnah Hospital, Edhi sources said.
