Earlier, the accused was brought to the City Courts complex by a heavy police contingent.

According to remand papers, interrogation of the accused is in progress which requires more time. Afaq was booked in murder of one Farooq on June 19, 1992.-APP

Our Staff Reporter adds: Afaq Ahmed said on Saturday that his party would continue struggle along with the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD) for the restoration of a true democracy and the Constitution of 1973.

Talking to his lawyers on the occasion of his hearing in the court on Saturday, he said with the passage of the National Security Council Bill from the parliament, the country would perpetually become subservient to people in uniform.

He said though his opponents have arms and state power, but rather than solving the issues being faced by the masses, the opponents have used all might to crush the MQM.
