KABUL, April 3: A US soldier was shot by a sniper while on patrol in Afghanistan and a militant was killed after a hand grenade attack on another convoy in the same area near the Pakistani border, a military official said on Saturday.
The shot soldier was not seriously wounded in the first incident while there were no injuries to the US-led coalition from the grenade assault, Lieut-Col Bryan Hilferty said.
The attacks happened on Wednesday in southeastern Khost province, which borders Pakistan's tribal areas.-AFP
