PCB refers Rashid's case to disciplinary body

By Our Sports Correspondent

LAHORE, April 3: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday referred Rashid Latif's case to its disciplinarycommittee for taking action against the former captain and wicket-keeper.

This was stated by the PCB Chairman, Shaharyar M. Khan, while talking to reporters at the Qadhafi Stadium on Saturday.

Rashid has reportedly alleged that the fourth match ofthe five-match One-day series played at the Qadhafi Stadium on March 21 was fixed.

Shaharyar said that the Indians had been playing well andso they were deserving winners and there was no question of match-fixing.

The Indians, who won the one-day series 3-2, then completed a resounding innings victory in the first Test at Multan.

The second Test is scheduled to start at the Qadhafi Stadium from Monday.

Shaharyar said that the Pakistan dropped catches while India made no mistakes in fielding and catching and that was the big difference between the two teams at Multan.

He added that the condition of the pitch or the umpiring's decisions all were not acceptable excuses for the Pakistan's defeat.

The PCB chief said that the Indian batting and bowling was also disciplined but the Pakistanis were not soimpressive in both the departments.

The PCB disciplinary committee is headed by Justice (retd) Ameer Alam.
