HYDERABAD, April 3: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, here on Thursday directed an investigating officer to report to it if any higher police officer interfered in the investigation into kidnapping of a girl.

The court issued the directive after complainant Abdul Rasheed Memon told it that Hyderabad investigation DPO Peer Fareed Jan Sarhandi, who was directly involved in the matter, was interfering into the investigation due to which it was being delayed.

The court granted 15-day time to the investigation officer, sub-inspector Gulsher, for submitting charge-sheet failing which he and the DPO were directed to appear in the court with explanation for non-completion of investigation.

On Tuesday, the court directed the applicant to file rejoinder in the matter of kidnapping of his daughter, Nayab, 14, after police said that he was not cooperating in the investigation.

Hyderabad operation DPO A.D. Khawaja and Hala investigation in-charge Hussain Bux filed their statements before the court. Mr Bux said that he had arrested nominated accused, Noor Mohammad and Achar, obtained their remand and was trying to arrest other accused.

He said that applicant's son, Mansoor, in his statement disclosed that he had beaten his sisters - Nayab, Aftab and Shadab - after which they left home for unknown place.

He added that a witness, Safia, said that Nayab came to her and obtained Rs100 for going to her relatives in old Hala.

He said that applicant did not cooperate with police and prayed for dismissal of application. He also prayed the court to direct applicant to cooperate with investigating officer.
