KHAIRPUR, April 3: Senior People's Party Parliamentarians leader and MPA Syed Qaim Ali Shah has denounced the proposal of Prime Minister Zafarullah Jamali, suggesting formulation of new districts in Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu districts.
Addressing party workers here on Friday night, he said surprisingly, the prime minister had come up with the proposal at a time when there were no funds left with district governments following the introduction of the local bodies system.
Criticizing the recently held LB by-elections, the MPA alleged that it was merely a distribution of seats among coalition partners as was done with Zakat and Baitul Maal funds.
Talking about the Wana operation, he said the issue was not discussed in the house nor the elected representatives taken into confidence.
He claimed that there was shortage of flour for the first time in the history of the country, necessitating the import of wheat and also regretted that no merit was being observed in the province as jobs were given to persons of the ruling party.
The MPA said the Sindh Assembly sessions were not called on the request of the opposition and if a session was ever called, it was adjourned without debating the motion.
RIGGING ALLEGED: Awam Dost Panel Nazims and PPP activists took out a procession here on Tuesday to protest against alleged rigging in local bodies by-elections in the district.
The procession started from the Jilani House and, after marching through main thoroughfares of the city, culminated at the press club.
Meanwhile, newly elected Khairpur Dost Penal Nazim of Jilani UC Syed Shehzad Shah and Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) leader Irshad Jilani denied rigging allegations and asked the district Nazim to accept the defeat of the candidates of her panel.
Commenting on a statement of PPP leader Qaim Ali Shah about the rigging, they said that he had not ascertained facts and relied on accusations.
