Musarrat joins PAT

LAHORE, April 2: Actress-turned-politician Musarrat Shaheen announced on Friday the merger of her party, Tehrik-i-Musawaat, with the Pakistan Awami Tehrik.

According to PAT media cell, Ms Shaheen joined the PAT along with party workers and office-bearers during a meeting with Prof Tahirul Qadri.

Tahirul Qadri said Ms Shaheen would be given a full chance to serve the nation from the PAT platform. He also appointed her a member of the PAT's central executive council.

Ms Shaheen described Tahirul Qadri as a global ambassador of peace, and said she could not find a person better than Mr Qadri in her search for the light of Islam.-PPI
