KARACHI, April 2: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, has asked colleges and higher secondary schools to submit attendance record of their students who intended to appear in the forthcoming HSC annual examinations.

There were reports that colleges, which had been motivated a couple of years back to take measures in order to ensure an improvement in their students' attendance, have forwarded examination forms of even thosestudents who did not meet the mandatory requirement of 75 per cent attendance.

The Sindh education department had recently decided to constitute a committee at provincial level with a task to visit colleges and check students' attendance records.

The BIEK notification, issued on Friday, said: "It is notified for the information of all concerned principals of colleges or higher secondary schools that the students' attendance rules or decision of Cabinet Division be strictly followed."

The Board has asked all those principals who have not yet submitted a complete attendance record for the year 2003-2004 should do so at the earliest.
