Saudi air force chief decorated

RAWALPINDI, March 31: President Gen Pervez Musharraf conferred the award of Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military) on Gen Abdul Aziz Bin Mohamed, Commander Royal Saudi Air Force, at a special Investiture ceremony on Wednesday.

The award was conferred on General Abdul Aziz in recognition of his consistent and valuable contributions for promoting goodwill and understanding between the Air Forces of the two countries.

General Abdul Aziz, a reputed military commander and a distinguished aviator, has played a significant role in promoting and strengthening the bonds of interaction and cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Air Forces.

The ceremony was attended by Federal Ministers, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, the Services Chiefs, senior civil and military officers and other distinguished guests.

Earlier, General Abdul Aziz called on the President General Pervez Musharraf. During the call, the President recalled the traditionally cordial and fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan and lauded the services of Saudi Air Force Commander in giving a meaningful and purposeful orientation to these relations.

General Abdul Aziz thanked the Government of Pakistan for conferring on him a prestigious military award and expressed his resolve for further strengthening the excellent relations between the Air Forces of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. - APP
