LAHORE: Goods, services to be improved at Shadman Bazaar

LAHORE, March 20: The city district government has chosen the Shadman Sunday Bazaar for improvement of quality of goods and services through sponsors.
District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood said here on Saturday that sponsors were being contacted for the kind of facilities and services they could provide to the customers in the bazaar held adjacent to the Punjab Government Officers Residences in the posh locality.
He said that the city district government would complete construction of 72 roads in Gulshan-i-Ravi, Model Town Extension Scheme and Faisal Town at a cost of Rs15.6 million by the end of June.
Mian Amer said that 30 new tubewells were being sunk in different parts of the provincial metropolis for improved water supply.
Meanwhile, the CDG squads lodged FIRs against nine butchers at the Shadman and Gulshan-i-Ravi police stations found selling meat at exorbitant rates during checking of prices in Walled City, Garden Town, Chungi Amar Sidhu, Gulshan-i-Ravi and Sanda.
Unstamped meat was confiscated and auctioned for Rs6,880.
