PESHAWAR, March 19: The maiden provincial convention of non-governmental organizations will be held on Saturday (today) under the aegis of Sarhad NGOs Ittehad (SNI).

According to a press release issued here, the convention will be followed by a peace procession likely to be attended by activists and leaders of various political parties from across the province.

The convention will begin at 9am at Archives Hall. Later, a procession will be taken out from the hall and will culminate at the Peshawar Press Club. At the end of the procession, speakers would highlight the importance of peace and the prevailing insecurity across the world due to the attitude of the US government.

They would also apprise people of the negative impact of globalization on the developing world and the role of the IMF, World Bank and World Trade Organisation.
