PESHAWAR, March 13: Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has called for improving the utilization of funds allocated for various provincial development programmes. He said this while presiding over a meeting here on Saturday. On this occasion, the chief minister was also briefed on the current ADP.

Criticizing the progress of work on these projects, he said that it was not up to the mark.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Senior Minister Sirajul Haq, Chief Secretary Ejaz Qureshi, Additional Chief Secretary Mir Laiq Shah, Finance Secretary Ziaur Rahman and Chief Economist Zafar Azam.

Officers of the Planning and Development Department and the Finance Department should be sensitized to take onboard elected representatives of the provincial assembly in connection with the shaping of the next ADP, he said. The chief minister said the government assigned top priority to health and education sectors but regretted that development work in these sectors was not up to the mark.
