SHIKARPUR: Hunger strike against killing of PPP leader

SHIKARPUR, March 8: People's Party Parliamentarians activists observed a token hunger strike at the Lakhi Gate Chowk here on Monday to protest against the killing of party MPA Abdullah Murad Baloch.

The protesters also burnt tyres on roads. Allah Warayo Brohi, Shafiq Mangi, Deedar Mahar, Zafar Veesar, Sohail Mangi and other PPP activists participated in the hunger strike.

Dr Wazir Ghunjo of the Awami Tehrik, Asadullah of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Rashid Shah of the Government Secondary Teachers Association, Dhani Bux Brohi, Mohammad Paryal Mari and leaders of other different political and religious parties visited the hunger strike camp and expressed solidarity with the protesters.

DADU: A large number of People's Party Parliamentarians activists held a demonstration here and in Khairpur Nathan Shah on Monday, demanding the early arrest of killers of party MPA Abdullah Murad Baloch.

The protesters took out a procession in the Dadu town and marched through main roads. They were led by Ghulam Shabbir Abro, Adam Khan Solangi, Gul Hassan Qambrani and Mohammad Hashim Qambrani.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Abro criticized police for not registering an FIR against the real culprits. He said the PPP would continue its struggle till the arrest of the killers.

The PPP activists, led by PPP central committee member Qambar Ali Khan Leghari, also took to the streets in Khairpur Nathan Shah.

LARKANA: PPP women's wing divisional president Tuqeer Fatima Bhutto led a group of women who held a protest demonstration on Monday.

They blocked the Royal Road and chanted slogans against the Sindh government for its failure in arresting the assailants of the MPA. They also raised slogans against President Gen Pervez Musharraf.
