Blasts happened 'one minute apart'


BAGHDAD, March 4: The bombings in Baghdad and Karbala that killed some 170 people were carefully planned strikes that happened one minute apart, the commander of US troops in the Iraqi capital said on Thursday.

"It is a level of coordination that we have seen only a few times," Brigadier General Martin Dempsey told reporters in Baghdad, adding that the attacks happened "within a minute of each other". "The enemy we have encountered, some are very skill ful," said Brig Dempsey. -AFP
