LAHORE, March 3: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday confirmed three additional judges as judges of the Lahore High Court and extended the tenure of two more for one year.
Chief Justice Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry will administer oath of the office to Justice Pervez Ahmad, Justice Syed Sakhi Husain Bokhari and Justice Rustam Ali Malik at a ceremony here on Thursday.
Judges, whose tenure was extended, are: Justice Chaudhry Iftikhar Husain and Justice Farrukh Lateef. All the five judges were serving as presiding officers with the National Accountability Bureau when they were appointed as additional judges for a two-year period on March 3, 2002. The number of judges at the principal seat of the LHC at Lahore is 43.
