Shabbir available to face India

Published March 2, 2004

LAHORE, March 1: Paceman Shabbir Ahmad has reached here from Australia on Monday after a week's training from coach Darrell Foster for rectification of his action.

A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) spokesman said Foster's report about Shabbir's action would be received in next two or three days. Shabbir's action has been questioned by umpires Darrell Hair of Australia and Billy Bowden of New Zealand in fifth ODI in New Zealand in January.

The footage sent by the TV channel to the ICC has no similarity with the umpires' report. The international body has asked for the accurate footage. If the ICC endorsed the umpires' report after watching the footage, Shabbir would be given six weeks to rectify his action. That mean Shabbir will be available for the home series against India to be held from March 13 to April 17.
