SHIKARPUR, Feb 29: Five persons, including a minor girl and a teenage bride, were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in upper Sindh and neighbouring Balochistan area during the last three days.

Hidayat, 28, was shot dead by her husband, Momin Mahar, in Dal village, Lakhi taluka, Shikarpur district, on Sunday. The Chak police have registered a case and are said to be investigating.

JACOBABAD: A minor girl, Mirzadi, 12, was shot dead by her brother, Malook Shah, while she was alone in her house in Mohammad Anwar Rind village of Balochistan on Saturday.

Later, the accused also killed her alleged paramour, Sadiq Ali, 30, and fled. The Dera Murad Jamali police have registered a case. In another incident, while Sothi was alone at home, her husband, Jahangir Mazari, shot her dead and fled.

SUKKUR: A newly-wed woman was killed by her husband while the house of her alleged paramour was set ablaze in Abdul Karim Kursi village on Friday. Denglo Kursi killed his teenaged bride of some 15 days, Azizan, 16, on suspicion of her having illicit relations with Mubarak Kursi. Later, he went over to Mubarak's house but as he did not find him there, Denglo set the house ablaze and fled.
