QUETTA, Feb 22: Agha Shahid Hasan Bugti, Secretary-General of the Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP), has accused the Frontier Corps of demolishing 150 houses in Isralithal area of Sui town to forcibly occupy the private land for constructing cantonment without fulfilling the legal procedure.
Speaking at a news conference in press club here on Sunday, he announced that his party had decided to hold seminar on March 14 in Quetta which would be attended by leaders of political parties to expose the designs of the government against the federating units.
The JWP leader warned that the anti-people policies would endanger the integrity of the country and maintained that when government itself was reluctant to respect the established laws then common man would be free to act according to his perceptions.
Mr Bugti claimed that the collector of revenue Dera Bugti had sought objections from owners of the land to construct cantonment on their lands adding that the tribesmen had communicated to the district administration their opposition to sell their lands.
He lamented that the Frontier Corps authority without fulfilling the legal and lawful procedures on the night between Friday and Saturday expell-ed the residents and demolished about 150 houses.
He clarified that the party could lodge protests against the illegal acts of the government peacefully and maintained that tribesmen won't remain quiet on the excesses committed by the state against its citizens.
He said that rulers should not forget that Sui gas fields were life and death for Pakistan; similarly the dignity and honour of Balochistan was linked with it.
He asserted that ANP President Asfandyar Wali, and National Party leader Dr Hayee Baloch had accepted invitation to attend the seminar on March 14, whereas invitations to other parties including ARD, Ponam and others would be delivered soon.
