DADU, Feb 21: The district and sessions judge here on Saturday directed the Dadu SHO to register a murder case against four police officials allegedly involved in the death of a tractor driver, Ghulam Hyder Babbur.

Akbar Babbur, the cousin of the murdered man, had filed an application in the court for registration of the case.

The complainant stated that three days back, a police mobile hit a tractor as a result Hyder and some police officials were injured.

He stated that after the accident, the police officials tortured Hyder to death and later crushed the body under the vehicle.

He said the Dadu police were protecting the involved police officials.

He said the police were pressuring the members of the victim's family to withdraw from the complaint.

The judge, Anwar Baloch summoned SHO Inspector Murtaza Memon and directed him to register a murder case against Allah Obhayo Soomro, Fazal Hussain, Ahmed Hussain and van driver Mohammad Eran.

RELATIVES HELD: As soon as the relatives of the killed driver and activists of different political parties reached Dadu police station to register an FIR, the police arrested them for blocking the road.

The arrested people were identified as Technical Shops Owners Association president Tufail Awan, Akbar Babbur, Barkat, Mohammad Asif and Arshad Bhatti.

The police produced them for remand in the court of judicial magistrate who granted bail to them.

ELECTROCUTED: A boy, Majeed Solangi, 18, was electrocuted at a hotel in Gharibabad Mohalla here on Saturday.

ARRESTED: The police raided Dhano Chandio village on Friday and arrested three accused- Karim Bukhsh Chandio, the brother of alleged bandit Laiq Chandio, Sajan Chandio and Azizullah Chandio- after an exchange of fire, the police said.
