NOWSHERA, Feb 7: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad on Saturday criticized the statement of Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha in which he termed Pakistan an irresponsible state.

Talking to newsmen at the district headquarters hospital at Akbarpura, he said the government's decision to debrief nuclear scientists had opened a Pandora's Box and given an opportunity to the anti-Pakistan lobby todefame the country.

He alleged that President Gen Pervez Musharraf had initiated investigations against the scientists under the pressure of the United States.

"In the present situation, the country's peaceful nuclear programme is in danger," he said.
